Hello from BLuesBeatNews

This is a new blog dedicated to the blues.  Much of the information will have to do with Connecticut activities and the surrounding states.

Each Thursady a schedule of Blues in the area will be posted.

The blog supplements my Blues Beat column which appears weekly in the Middletown Press, Bristol Press, Torrington Register-Citizen, and the New Britain Herald.

News of national and international blues activities will be included.

Now that the warm weather is here, the blog will review some of the Festivals that can supply a nice weekend away.

Connecticut has a very active blues scene with many venues hosting blues, some on a regular basis and others as part of its entertainment mix.  A number of clubs also sponsor weekly jams where players get a chance to show their skills.

Some larger venues, theater type, also bring in blues on a regular basis.

In addition, Connecticut has an active Blues Society which is affiliated with the Blues Foundation in Memphis and provides a number of opportunities to hear local blues talent.

Stay tuned for more BluesBeatNews…..
