IBC Wednesday AM

Planning on starting the day in the hotel lobby as Penny Lane is going to be interviewing Ricky Stevens.  Ricky is a longtime Blues Foundation volunteer and now a member of the Board.  He is one of the people you get to know if you take part in Blues Foundation activities.

First let’s get some more details on Penny Lane.  She can be found at www.Giant96.com.

That’s 96.5 fm or 1520 am.  They can also be found on facebook and twitter.

Penny has been doing this for many years.  She has a regular show in Shelbyville, Indiana south of Indianapolis.

I had a morning conversation with Tyson Conrady the do-all technical coordinator for the show, also program director, he is “the man” at the radio station.  I learned a lot about radio and can’t wait to follow up at WFCS, my station, with some of his suggestions.  Sharing his knowledge makes the IBC such a unique experience.

After Ricky dis his interview Collin John stopped over to say hello.  He will be in the Solo/Duo competition.

Now it was my turn on the microphone.  Just a quick stint, giving out the Blog information.

It is still morning but now decisions must be made.  Of course one decision always seems to relate to food.  If you don’t take advantage of the food offered, you are missing a great part of visiting Memphis.  The cuisine is different as is the service.  Friendly does apply.

And of course everyone has a favorite rib joint.  My suggestion try the the ones that friends recommend and ask around.  Now ribs are always mentioned but try gumbo, chicken and the Blues City Cafe steak.

Now the activity picks up.  So I am posting this portion of the day with the rest coming soon.

No more leisure time now. It is Blues, Blues, and more Blues.
