Much of the acts I caught on Thusday were at Wet Willie’s. One was Bobby Blackhat Band. I had met Bobby at a blues fest in Chespeake, VA. and wanted to see his band.
The rest of the acts I saw were from various blues organizations and I didn’t catch all the intros but the blues kept coming.
The Crew from Mass.
The Dutch entry.
Some of the other players–
Next stop was The New Daisy for the Carney-Richardson jam. On the way I met RJ Howson of the RJ Howson Band from Southwest Florida.
Once inside the blues kept coming. Cash McCall was on stage when I got in.
He brought Niko to play some harp.
Then Bernie Jenkins was on.
As usual the musicians were everywhere.
This night Pat Pepin joined in.
Past IBC Winner Lionel Young was also there.
The Daisy is a fine place to finish the evening. Sean and John have a steady stream of players. But I had one more stop. Back to Wet Willie’s for the accoustic jam.
Eric Hughes and his brother Walter were hosting.
Joining the evening were Andy Cohen and Michael Frank from Earwig Music.
With other players it was a full evening. And the Semi-finals were still to come on Friday. We won’t find out until later who will be playing. Plus Jake and the Lowdown, Connecticut’s Youth Group will be playing.
More to come.
