An Evening with Suit, Ty, Thurrsty

Got out Wednesday to see Suit,Ty, Thurrsty at Mike’s Blue Collar Bar in Wallingford.  Mike’s does a lot with Concerts with Causes.  This night was to help arts and music programs.

First up was Solistic, a funk styled group.  Good sounding.  Entertaining and dynamic.  They put on a good show.

They caught my attention with a mention of Hendrix.  And then a trip to the past with the theme from Sanford & Son.

Then Tina brought up Suit,Ty, Thurrsty

And Big Thurrsty

The guys kept the audience engaged.  The stage was big enough for them to move around.

Tom the Suit kept up some talk and promo between songs.  Here is offering a CD with an upside down cover at a discount.

aDSC_0456 He also made mention of his amps.  One from the 30s and the other from the 40s with a 70s guitar.

Mitchell Leighton of Front Row Band stopped in to catch the show.

All three of the guys took turns on vocals and they looked happy doing it.

They have fun and make fun for the audience.  A good mix of originals and some covers.

After the show we had some time to talk and hope they get this way again.  Mike’s Blue Collar Bar has a bar and a Music Room with a big stage and good sight lines.  Not hard to find once you find So. Cherry St in Wallingford.

One of the other things that was good about the night was that I got to catch up with an old friend that lives down the street from Mike’s.  I’ve known Mary Mushinsky for a number of years both in my environmental life and political life.
