International Blues Challenge – Thursday

bnr-home-03

Well the International Blues Challenge versus the Bluesbeatnews daily blog.  And as I am just getting to Thursday’s activities the IBC has won.  Way too much to do.  Cannot sit around where the blues is everywhere.  I will continue to catch up on the week’s events as so many good things happen.

A change in plans had me going to the Cast of Blues Reception with artist Sharon McConnell-Dickerson at the Blues Hall of Fame.

Sharon does Life-Cast Masks of blues artist and has an extensive collection.  They are now on display at the Blues HoF.   I had a chance to say hello as we had met before and we have a mutual friend in Rocky Lawrence.

On the way back to Beale, I needed a little food and I was going to walk right past Ray’Z.  So since I had no ride to Cozy Corner, I will get the chance to try the Italian beef sandwich guys were raving about.  This one is fully loaded, the only way to go.

Now it was getting close to bluestime.  It was Stevens and Allen, hopefully some time to see Bobby Black Hat Band, and then the Mighty Soul Drivers.

I did make it to Jerry Lee Lewis’ club as one act was ending and Bobby Black Hat was coming on.

The Mighty Soul Drivers were certainly looking dapper on Beale Street.
