IBC Wednesday

Wednesday, the IBC started with the bands and solo duo acts taking center stage.  I was off to see the Connecticut acts.  As luck would have it, I met an engaging bunch of fans of the Avery/Grouws Band from the Central Iowa Blues Society.

This band had a female vocalist that overpowered the stage without stepping on the band.

EasyBaby was a little nervous as lead singer Kelly Rago was weather delayed and came in just in time to set the microphone and start the set.  She made it directly from the airport and they hit the stage.

Connecticut fans were there.

Another acts in the same venue.

Barbara Blue-The Blues Queen of Beale Street was a judge.

The weather kept people in the venues, so that Beale Street meetings were not as frequent as in the past.  One thing was the same, a lot of hot blues.  Between the Challenge, the Showcases, and the Jams, Memphis was Bluesin’.
